Computing ensures that pupils become digitally literate to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information & communication technology at a level that is appropriate so that they can access the digital world. They will develop a knowledge of algorithms, create and de-bug simple programs and use logical reasoning to predict the behaviours of simple programs. They will use technology to organise, store and retrieve information. They will learn to use information safely and learn the importance of privacy.
All children, including the Nursery children, have the opportunity to develop computer experience. The school has recently installed wireless and purchased a class set of ipads. There are computers and interactive whiteboards in all the classrooms and the children use them for word processing, drawing, reading activities and problem solving. All computers have Internet access.
In addition the school has a small computer area in the library. The children also use listening centres and programmable toys.
