St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Infant and Nursery School.
Headmistress: Miss Anna Gavin

Welcome

Welcome to St Teresa's Catholic Infant & Nursery School.

The school is a one form entry school with a sixty place nursery. It was founded in 1869 as the parish school for St Joseph’s Parish. St Teresa’s Church was built later next to the school. Links between parish, school and local community remain very close.

The school rejoices in its long tradition but prides itself on being a friendly, child-centred school, with excellent standards and a forward-looking staff.
“A modern school in a lovely Victorian building” was how one Ofsted inspector phrased it.  The school was outstanding in all elements in its last Ofsted report  in May 2007 and also judged outstanding by the Archdiocese in its Ofsted Inspection element covering the religious education of the school in November 2007.  It has earned three Basic Skills Quality Marks.   It achieved the Healthy Schools Award in December 2006 and the Active Mark in November 2007. The results of the school's Standard Assessment Tasks and Tests are significantly above the National Average.
