Governors' Information and Duties

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

We are extremely lucky at St Teresa's to have an active and committed board of Governors who work very hard on behalf of the school. The Governing Body meets each term. There are a number of Committees which focus on areas of school life, for example: Staffing, Finance, Curriculum, Premises and Safeguarding. The committees also meet each term. The Governors are responsible for ensuring all children get a really good education at our school. The term of office for Governors runs for 4 years. Governor elections for Parents take place when a vacancy arises.

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

At the start of each academic year we ask Governors to declare whether they or any spouse/partner, or close family member have any significant business interest in a company, organisation or individual from which the school may buy goods or services. No declarations of business interests were made. There were no relationships between governors and members of the school staff, including spouses, partners and relatives declared.

Mr Hennessy as Associate member does not have voting rights.

Mrs McCormick is a Governor of another local school.

Mrs Mawdsley is a Governor of another local school.
